Middlebury is a town in Elkhart County.
In the early 1830s, settlers came from Middlebury, Vermont, to locate in Indiana. Later, in the 1840s, Amish families came from Ohio and settled in the countryside surrounding the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.4 square miles, all of it land.
