Syracuse is a town in Kosciusko County.
The first people to live in the area now known as Syracuse, were the Delaware, Miamis and Potawatomi Indian Tribes.
In 1832, treaties were signed with the Indian Tribes and by 1835, the Indiana General Assembly established the boundaries of Kosciusko County.
Samuel Crosson and Henry Ward platted the town of Syracuse in 1837.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the Syracuse has a total area of 1.9 square miles, of which, 1.6 square miles of it is land and 0.3 square miles of it (16.15%) is water.
