Granger, Indiana, a little more ... | | |
Granger is a "census-designated place" (CDP) and a suburb of South Bend, in St. Joseph County.
Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation and the South Bend School Corporation maintain the public schools in the area. Granger is part of the Michiana area.
Due to the accelerated growth of the city of Mishawaka, within the next 20 years, half of the Granger area will be annexed in Mishawaka under the 2025 city plan of Mishawaka as discussed in the 2005 State of the City address in Mishawaka. Currently portions along SR23, Gumwood Rd, University Dr, Cleveland Rd, Fir Rd, & Capital Ave have been annexed into the city of Mishawaka.
Within 20 years the city boundary will extend as far north as the Indiana/Michigan state line and as far east as the St. Joseph County/Elkhart County county line.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 26.2 square miles, all of it land. However, this amount will be decreasing over the next few years.
